VERDICT

Sennheiser PC 363D gaming headset offers a fantastic sound quality and several premium features. Their combination is a sufficient argument for why you would want to spend a few hundred dollars on a pair of gaming headphones. Their design lacks the high-end premium feel of other gaming headphones in this price range, but the rest just as good as you would expect from a company with such a great reputation as Sennheiser.

Sennheiser, the well-known manufacturer of premium headphones has come up with a gaming headset that is sure to impress demanding gamers who refuse to compromise when it comes to audio quality. As any premium headphones, you can expect equally premium price tag. This review will tell just how justified it is.

Design and build

Sennheiser went for plastic construction with gray aluminum parts on the side of each cup. The overall design is little less impressive than we are used to from other manufacturers of gaming headphones. Plastic parts on these headphones don’t feel as solid as we would imagine a pair of expensive gaming would feel like.

Aesthetics aside, the large XXL velvet earpads do a phenomenal job at providing a firm grip without too much pressure on the head. The laser-cut aluminum parts are engineered to let air pass freely to your ears and keep your head cool and sweat-free under all conditions.

The headphones feature a high-quality noise-cancelling microphone that can be positioned as users see fit. It can be muted by pressing a button located on the left earcup. The microphone records outside ambient noise and the intelligent circuits built into the headphones filter out all unwanted noises and sounds. What’s left is a clear, loud voice that is easy to understand – something that your teammates will surely appreciate.

The included 3D G4ME1 USB sound card gives users the option to switch from 2, 4, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound on the go. It’s small, elegantly designed, and it just works great.

Sound quality

Sennheiser describes these headphones as “noise blocking”. That’s because the PC 363D features Sennheiser’s unique “Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement” design. This means that audio signal is directed into your ears and doesn’t leak outside. In practice, you can head more detail at lower volume settings, and you don’t disturb people around you. You can still hear a conversation next to you, but it’s muted enough not to pull you out of your game.

The sound quality is perfect. Exactly what you would expect from a renowned company such as Sennheiser. The level of detail that you experience with these headphones is miles above what you normally get with gaming headsets. Lows are punchy, mids are warm, and high extend far above the average. We can definitely see these headphones being used for regular music listening, and not just games and movies.
