VERDICT

Jarv Pure Fit Earbuds are a very good pair of Bluetooth earbuds when they actually fit and work. Sadly, many users report deal-breaking problems only a few days after purchase. With so many other wireless earbuds on the market, we have to recommend against purchasing Jarv Pure Fit. You may get lucky and not experience any problems at all, but taking such a big gamble would be foolish.

Jarv Pure Fit BT-601 Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless Sport Earbuds stand out thanks to their unique Pure Fit design, which offers a high level of security and stability under all conditions including gym, cycling, hiking, and many others.

Design

These earbuds have a unique hook-design that causes them to be very comfortable for some people and unusable for others. There is simply no way that these earbuds will fit equally well women and children with very small ears and men with much larger ears. That is a real shame since they look very cool and we really like the built-in controls and magnetic connection that enables you to wear them around your neck when not in use.

They are available in three different colors: black, blue, and red. Regardless of the particular color option, the headphones still remain mainly back. The only thing that changes is the cable and the small portion with USB port and volume/music playback controllers.

Build quality

This is where Jarv completely missed the mark. The build quality on these earbuds is abysmal. Problems start with the ear-hook and end with replaceable ear tips. Simply put, the overall construction needs a complete overhaul otherwise we see no way that Jarv can keep selling this product.

One redeeming quality is their IPX-rated water and sweat resistance. If you enjoy running or biking in the rain, then these headphones will provide you with great company. Even more severe rainstorm will leave them unaffected, as long as you don’t allow water to get inside the driver compartment. After all, they are just water-resistant, not water-proof.

Sound quality

Sound quality is average at best. There is a distinct lack of detail in all frequencies and some users describe the sound as if they were listening inside a metal garbage can. They would be fine for spoken word but definitely not for bass-heavy gym music. Even though the newly updated 2016 version sounds a lot better than the original, it still leaves a lot to be desired. Bass frequencies and highs received a much needed improvement, but mids still lack in clarity and their backward positioning makes them unsuitable for hip hop and RnB music. However, they do relatively fine with certain sub-genres of electronic music that put less of an importance on the overall acoustic capability and rely heavily on the strong bass and enjoyable treble.

What is in the box?

You get the earbuds themselves, one USB cable for charging, a soft carrying pouch, and two sets of replaceable ear tips.
