Jarv Joggerz BT-501 PRO Sports Bluetooth On-Ear Headphones Review
- Enjoyable sound quality
- Good Bluetooth range
- Very easy to store and carry
- Non-adjustable plastic band
- Durability issues
Jarv did many things right when they were designing the Joggerz Bluetooth headphones: they sound great, are easy to store and carry, and it’s unlikely that you would ever experience any issues with comfort. It’s a shame that so many customers report various durability issues. On the other hand, you must take into consideration just how inexpensive these headphones are.
As their name would suggest, Jarv Joggerz PRO Sports Bluetooth 4.1 Headphones with Built-In Microphone are designed with joggers and runners in mind. In our opinion, any Bluetooth headphones for active people have to be lightweight, comfortable, stable, have long battery life, and sound as good as possible. We are curious to see if the Joggerz meet our criteria.
Design and Build Quality
The first thing we wanted to test is how lightweight the Joggerz Pro really are. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that these are one of the lightest and smallest Bluetooth headphones currently available. They fold into a very compact package, making it easy to carry them around daily in your bag or pocket.
Unfortunately, you need to be extra careful not to accidentally drop or sit on them. Their rather fragile plastic construction is not designed to withstand rough handling. So many customers only failed to realize this and ended up with a broken pair of headphones. A good news is that Jarv has a fantastic customer support, and they always have your back in any dispute.
Another weak part of the Joggerz Pro is the neckband. Many other headphones use plastic bridge reinforced with metal inside, but Jarv uses their own all-plastic construction, which is just as fragile as it looks. Furthermore, the headband doesn’t extend as much as we would like, so larger people are likely to have problems with resting the headphones around the neck.
The integrated wireless controls allow you to directly control your music, accept or decline phone calls, and power the headphones on and off. The controls are easily accessible, allowing you to keep your phone in the pocket.
The Jarv Joggerz Pro have a built-in rechargeable battery that charges fully in 2 hours and offers 20 hours of continuous play time or 300 plus hours of standby. The included LED battery indicator lets you know how much juice you have left.
The latest Bluetooth 4.1 wireless technology offers high-quality audio streaming over long distances. You can be up to 33ft away from your smartphone and still get a good signal quality. We have tested these headphones with multiple interpreters in several different genres, including hip-hop, pop, country, jazz, classical music, and rock.
We have found the frequency range to be excellent and were impressed by the low end. Mids and highs were not lagging too far behind, but they certainly don’t achieve the same level of quality as the bass.
