VERDICT

Hennison Bluetooth sleeping mask is an excellent way how to make long plane trips much more comfortable than they would otherwise be. It’s not without its flaws, but they can be easily forgiven when you consider how affordable this device is.

The Hennison Wireless Bluetooth Velvet Eye Patch is the ideal companion for every traveler out there. This high-tech sleeping mask features built-in speakers and microphone, which together allow you to listen to music and answer phone calls without the need to every take it off.

Design and build

This sleeping mask is designed to provide users with maximum comfort during long flights. Regular sleeping masks often don’t cover the entire area of your eyes, and they do little to nothing to protect you from crying babies, loud passengers and other annoying noises you often run into on board of an airplane.

It’s made entirely out of soft velvet materials, and the inside is fitted with memory foam, which conforms to your head shape and facial structure. Actually, this sleeping mask has so much padding that it can sometimes feel almost too bulky for its own good. Don’t get us wrong, sleeping with the mask on is very comfortable, but the added size can feel slightly strange and unappealing.

The built-in battery can last up to 2 hours of continuous playback time, and is charged via the included USB cable. The included headphones can be removed from the mask for washing and transportation. The mask comes in 4 different colors and 1 size.

Sound quality

You probably wouldn’t expect to get a respectable sound quality out of an ordinary sleeping mask, would you? Well, you may not believe it, but the HENNISON Wireless Bluetooth Velvet Eye Patch actually does sound quite good. Of course, it’s not close to the sound quality that you get out of high-end headphones, but it does a perfectly satisfying job when it comes to onboard entertainment during travel.

The built-in microphone with easy-to-reach controls does a great job of leaving unwanted background noise behind and transmitting only your own voice. You can easily adjust volume, redial the last phone number and control music playback, just like you would with any in-line remote.

The speaker lacks low-frequency performance and impact, but it manages to fatefully reproduce mids and vocals in general. If you like to listen to audiobooks while you travel, you will be very pleased with its performance. More demanding users can always use their high-quality earbuds and not deal with the built-in speaker at all.

Overall, this sophisticated sleeping mask delivers sound quality that is in many respects equal to what you get with some better budget headphones that are currently available on the market.
