VERDICT

If you are looking for a very comfortable pair of headphones for travel, daily commute, leisure, or use in school or office, then Bose SoundTrue On-Ear headphones are among the best options on the market.

Their memory foam cushions and softly padded headband ensure fantastic levels of comfort even after hours of use and they sound just as good as you would expect Bose headphones to sound like.

The recommended retail price is slightly higher than we would like, however, these headphones can regularly be found for fantastic prices at Amazon and other online stores.

Bose is renowned for their excellent active noise-cancelling headphones that are popular among travelers and people who need to concentrate on their work in what would otherwise be an unacceptably loud environment. Although many customers come for the noise cancelation ability, it’s the amazing sound that turns them into lifelong customers. Bose SoundTrue On-Ear Headphones are made for those who would like to have the familiar sound of Bose QuietComfort 25 in a much smaller package.

Design and build

Bose SoundTrue headphones can be broken down into two part. There is the very comfortable memory foam padding on the headband and around your ears. The padding is soft, sweat-resistant, and feels very nice on the skin. We did not notice any discomfort even after hours of use, which is fantastic given their on-ear design. Despite the lack of active-noise canceling functionality, these would still be very good for use in the office or school library.

The second main part of these headphones are their high-quality plastic components. They come in several colors and exhibit all signs of quality manufacturing. At just 4.9 oz, these headphones are very lightweight and the convenient foldable design makes transportation easy and effortless. The audio cable has built-in playback control buttons and attaches to a single ear cup.

Sound quality

If you have any previous experience with Bose headphones, you will know what to expect in terms of sound quality and reproduction. The sound is nicely balanced and crisp across the frequency range. They provide plenty of detail for maximal music enjoyment while preserving a fun, warm sense of musicality. Bass frequencies are reproduced with high accuracy, but they may seem less impactful to those who really enjoy a brain-shaking bass.

What is in the box?

Bose SoundTrue On-Ear headphones come with inline remote and microphone cable and hard-shell carrying case for save storage during traveling. The design of the case matches the headphones and so does the cable. The included inline microphone is positioned perfectly for faithful voice capture and good noise suppression.
