Design

The MDR-7506 has been available for more than 20 years and their design definitely shows it. But despite their age, they still look just as great as they did when they were first released.

Sound

The 40mm drivers produce a bright sound with some pretty harsh peaks in highs and steep roll-off after 11KHz. Similar roll-off is also present below 50Hz, which results in a thin sound that doesn’t have much excitement behind it.

It takes a little bit of tweaking to get the most out of these old-school puppies, but, when you’re done, it’s worth every minute you spend on it.
