VERDICT

The AcousticSheep SleepPhones Wireless Bluetooth Headphones are a very good and simple solution to a fairly complicated problem. This eco-friendly headband delivers a good sound performance, excellent comfort, and all of this in a universal form factor that will fit every person on this planet. The company behind this product offers multiple version, each with its own set of features and specific price tag.

AcousticSheep calls this product “the pajamas for your ears.” Simply put, the SleepPhones are headphones designed as a sleek and soft headband to be worn at night and while you fall to sleep. The concept is very simple, but we all known that it’s the execution that ultimately matters. Let’s see how these headphones perform when we put them to test.

Design and build

The SpeelPhones Wireless are the perfect example how innovative thinking can have led to extremely useful innovation and the creation of bed-friendly headphones with no cord. The SleepPhones come with a soft headband that wraps around your head and keeps the built-in speakers in place through the night. It’s made out of 88% recycled material from plastic bottles and the company behind this product even powers 100% of their HQ solely by using wind energy.

The headband comes in multiple different sizes, each fitted with multiple removable speakers. These speakers can be easily repositioned to ensure maximum fit and the best possible sound quality. Their removal also makes the headband machine washable.

The Wireless model utilizes Bluetooth connection to wirelessly stream music and voice from your smartphone or tablet device. That way, you never have to worry about tangled up cords and possible problems with broken cables. The built-in battery lasts between 8-12 hours and charging takes just 3 hours. To charge the device, all you have to do is unplug the headphones and plug the battery/Bluetooth block into a compatible USB charger. Unfortunately, there is no way how to know how much batter is left in the battery. A simple dim indicator light that would light up when the battery status reaches a certain critical level would be more than enough.

Sound quality

The AcousticSheep SleepPhones Wireless Bluetooth Headphones provide a reasonable level of passive noise isolation. If you sleep next to a person who snores, these headphones make it possible to sleep relatively uninterrupted through the night. Of course, they won’t block very loud snoring or other noises.

Their sound quality is very good for what they are. Don’t expect too much and you won’t be disappointed. But when it comes to casual music listening, these wireless headphones do a great job. We also really like the included smartphone application with many soothing tracks designed specifically to help you fall asleep as fast as possible.

What is in the box?

The AcousticSheep SleepPhones come as they are without any additional accessories.
