VERDICT

What a surprise! The EP650 seem to be one of those rare cases when an unknown company releases a product that becomes an instant hit, convincing thousands of customers that they don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a fantastic wireless sound quality. The large selection of beautiful colors gives you plenty of options to choose a model that fully matches your personal preferences. There’s no way we are returning these to the manufacturer: they are just way too good!

Haven’t you heard about August? Then you may be surprised to know that their EP650 have received a 5-star rating by more than 1000 customers on Amazon. Don’t feel embarrassed: we were just as surprised as you. That’s why we couldn’t wait to try the headphones and see with our own eyes what makes them so special.

Design and Build Quality

The right earcup features controls, a microphone, and charging port. The headphone jack for wired listening is on the left side. This layout will feel instantly familiar to you, if you have any previous experience with Bluetooth headphones.

The construction of the EP650 is very solid, and you won’t be bothered by any common issues that plague so many affordable earphones. We have tested the black version and found the silver lining around earcups to be beautiful and make the headphones look much more expensive than they really are.

Your long listening sessions during dark winter months will be supported by a Li-Ion battery that can provide up to 10 hours of uninterrupted playback. If you happened to ever run out of juice, you can just plug in the provided 3.5mm audio cable and keep on rocking. We advise you to do the same when you are listening at home. This way, you will prolong the lifespan of the battery and ensure that the headphones will serve you for a long time.

Sound Quality

The August EP650 Bluetooth headphones are often selected by musicians for their home practice. The reason they choose them over specialized headphones is their excellent tonal balance. In other words, you get to hear your music the way it was intended to be enjoyed.

Consequently, some people may find them lacking in the bass department. That’s, of course, not true. It’s just that so many other headphones on the market artificially boost bass frequencies to make the headphones seem more dynamic. When they often end up doing, though, is creating a bloated, unrealistic bass that completely cover all intricate details.

The EP650 works great a portable headset, with audio quality always being crystal clear even when we left our phone 20 feet from the headphones.

What’s in the Box

The unassuming box the headphones come in contains a manual, charging cable, and audio cable.
