VERDICT

Sentey Symph GS-4531 Gaming Headset took us a by a surprise. The headset shows all signs of cheap overseas production like the flashy colors, over-the-top marketing claims, crazy model name, and largely unknown manufacturer. BUT, these headphones, surprisingly, actually deliver upon their claims and as such provide one of the best value on the market. They sound great, their ergonomics are excellent, and the price is spectacular.

Not everyone has the space for a full 7.1 surround sound setup. Sentey, the company behind these gaming headphones, knows this quite well. These modern-looking gaming headphones promise to deliver a true surround sound experience in a portable package and at the same time not cost you a small fortune.

Design and build

There is a lot to talk about when it comes to ergonomics of these headphones. Sentey Symph GS-4531 feature an adjustable adaptive headband with multiple levels of adjustment per side and very comfortable noise cancelling earpads. The headband can stretch and bend to almost any shape and thus easily accommodate heads of all sizes. The obvious bonus is the fact that you don’t have to worry about it breaking on you during transportation. We really like the ability to remove the headband completely, which is very useful for cleaning purposes.

There are LED lights on each earbud that add to the aggressive image of these gamer-oriented headphones. The only problem is that those LED lights can get quite warm during longer playing sessions. But hey – at least, you’re going to stay warm during the winter months.

The built-in remote microphone and headphone volume control are a welcomed addition to this already attractive package as it enables players to stay focused on their game. The sound quality of the microphone is on par with some rather expensive external microphones that often even exceed the price of these headphones.

Sound quality

We were excited to test the 7.1 surround sound that these headphones promise to deliver. While the virtual surround sound doesn’t really add anything to the regular music listening experience, it can do wonders for gaming and movie immersion. The Sentey Symph GS-4531 Gaming Headset offers a surprisingly great audio quality and faithfully reproduced all spacious properties of the sound.

The sound balance is skewed on the bass side and that’s actually not a bad thing. In most cases, you want your games and movies to feel meaty and punchy. That’s exactly what these headphones offer in terms of their sound balance – a fun and exciting sound.

What is in the box?

Not much actually. You get the headphones themselves together with the detachable microphone and that’s about it. But honestly, who could complain considering how little these headphones costs. We believe that it’s actually a good thing that money spent on things that really matter and not on superficial details and accessories.
