VERDICT

The third generation of Bedphones still isn’t without its set of problems. The fit is heavily dependent on the size and shape of your ears, and many users have experience problems with build quality. The one-year manufacturer’s warranty helps to overcome these issues and finalize the purchase, but we would prefer to see Bedphones sort these problems.

Many people like to wear headphones in the bed and even fall asleep with them. For others, listening to soothing music late at night represents a very effective way how to combat problems with sleeping. Unfortunately, not many headphones are suitable for such use. They are often either too bulky or too uncomfortable for extended use in bed. The Bedphones Gen. 3 On-Ear Sleep Headphones are here to solve this very problem.

Design and build

Bedphones are built with a single goal in mind – to create the most comfortable pair of headphones for use in bed. The manufacturer has partially managed to achieve this goal. These headphones are very comfortable if you happen to have the right size and shape of your ears. A few of us who did the testing had, and a few did not. Those would wear the Bedphones Gen. 3 without any fit issues praised their lightweight, comfort, and sound quality. Others complained about discomfort and inability to keep the headphones in ears during sleep.

We appreciate the addition of in-line microphone with remote. The single-button remote is compatible with most smartphone and allows for an easy control of common playback and call functions such as play, pause, and skip. The cable has quality stress relievers on both ends, but the in-line remote itself looks rather flimsy, and we are not sure how long it can last.

Sound quality

Assuming a good fit, the sound quality is very good. For such a small pair of headphones, you get to experience a powerful bass, solid mids, and crisp highs. They manage to contain the vast majority of sound, which means that you don’t have to worry about waking up your other half.

The sound is geared toward the spacious reproduction of soothing music and binaural beats. The excellent sound positioning and wide soundstage are able to perfectly recreate a vivid, dream-like scenes, which have the potential to greatly enhance sleep quality. These days, there are many applications available for all smartphone operating systems, and you can simply put your phone on the night table, connect the Bedphones Gen. 3, and enjoy the best sleep you ever had.

What is in the box?

The Bedphones Gen. 3 come with a very useful hard and soft-shell carrying case for daily storage and travel. It offers a fantastic level of protection and ensures that your headphones will last many months and years.
